Candice Accola TV Guide
And Zap2It‘s Carina MacKenzie sat down with Candice for an on-set video interview last week that touches on many aspects of Caroline’s roller coaster ride through Season 2, including her transformation into a vampire, her rocky love life, and whether she’ll be able to forgive Tyler when he returns to Mystic Falls.
When Tyler returns, will Caroline be able to forgive him? Accola tells us that while Caroline isn’t going to be anyone’s doormat, she’d be hypocritical not to cut Tyler a break.
“What I love about Caroline’s arc this season is that she’s just gained so much perspective, which in turn has made her grow up so much,” Accola says. “Whereas before, throughout Season 1, I feel like Caroline would hold a grudge, [now she knows] she’s not perfect either. On her first night as a vampire she took advantage of a nurse and killed an innocent man. She’s killed and she’s asked to be forgiven, so she has it in her.”

Nina si Candice TCA 2011 Party Interviu
Q: What’s been your favorite vampire moment as vampire Caroline?
CA: Favorite vampire moment was the “Hi mom” moment as it’s referred to at this point where the fact that I got to go to work and within one week I got to kick a very hot werewolf in the nuts into a tree and I also got to pistol whip a cop and bite his neck. I mean, I’m a pretty girly girl so the fact that they gave me the opportunity to step up and kick some major ass was fun.
Q: Will Katherine die in the tomb or will she escape?
ND: I don’t know, will she? I will tell you that I am going tomb crazy myself. I’ve been in the same wardrobe for six episodes. Every time I shoot that, they have to actually make my hair dirty and mess it up. I feel dirty and gross and I want to shower. I’m ready to come out of the tomb too. I’m ready to never be in the tomb ever again.

Candice Accola on Cambio Connect, talks to Fancast
The actress also dished about the show with Fancast. She talks about how Caroline’s trasnformation into a vampire has changed her as well as her character’s relationship with Tyler and Matt both. Plus, Candice teases what’s to come in the “Vampire Diaries” return in January. Read a quote below and find the rest of the story at Fancast.
What was it like shooting Tyler’s transformation scenes? I read it was so grueling you asked the caterers to bring chocolate chip cookies to Michael Trevino afterward.
It was a very vulnerable setting for an actor, especially for a man. It’s one thing to be emotionally vulnerable with all the crew around, and on top of that he wasn’t wearing many clothes. All the chains that he had on were real chains. It was two twelve to fourteen hour days of him screaming these gut wrenching screams and crying. There’s these normal things that tend to happen on a set… a light blows out. Here he gets into an emotional mode and he’s screaming and he’s crying and then it’s ‘Oh, we have to reset the light.’ Luckily we’ve got such an amazing and respectful, good-hearted crew. He’d been so good about eating healthy. Of course it was the one day that whole week that there was sugar cookies [in craft services] and he knew it. Luckily, craft services had some chocolate chip cookie dough left over [for afterward]. It’s important I think especially in the circumstance where you have a very heavy emotional scene, you have to know that everybody has your back. That’s what the cookies were for.

Candice talks to TVFanatic
Yes she is! Julie Plec actually told me about that line before we got that script. She was talking about it since they had already plotted out that episode. I anticipated that line for a while, so I was very excited to shoot it.
What can we look for in season two?
Action, action, action. This season is very fast-paced. The first season told the story, and second season… just hold on for the ride.
Candice Accola: Caroline & Tyler, biting strangers and Katherine
“Hell yeah!” she says. “That was epic. Finally she put him in his place. I’m always a fan of women who kick ass on screen so when I read the scripts and Caroline gets to be stronger now, it’s just been really really fun. I’ve been feeling very powerful.”
