Somerhalder: “Modelling career was fun”

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder has opened up about his early experiences with modelling, acting and women.
Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore on the CW series, visited The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, where he revealed that he began his modelling career as one of the “little polo boys” for Ralph Lauren.
“It was a blast. It was so fun,” Somerhalder said.
The star also revealed that he started acting when he was 10 years old.
“I got into [acting] really early. By 13, I was done,” Somerhalder admitted.
When asked if he preferred women from his native Louisiana or from New York, he answered: “They were sweeter and nicer in Louisiana and a lot looser and cooler in New York.”
